I received an e-mail a long time ago with a question: “Can a good Muslim be a good Australian?” The answers were given; it was stated, by an Australian who lived in Saudi Arabia for 20 years. I was urged by a few people to publish this on my blog, but I refrained of doing so because I couldn’t get the source or the name of the Australian. But I thought that the e-mail was certainly food for thought.
When I was invited by “Insight” to be on the program, I thought this would be relevant to the subject being discussed at SBS. I sent this to a friend whose hobby it is to read and analyse religious books, especially the Koran. I asked him if the answers given to that question were basically right. His answer was, “They are spot on.” So, I thought this would be ideal to bring to the debate and to see if it gets rebutted by the Muslims that were present.
On the flight to Sydney I showed a printout of this to the lady sitting next to me and she said that it was excellent to bring up and have it discussed, but be prepared, she warned me, to be cut off by Jenny Brockie in mid sentence, adding “I personally don’t like her!” Well, not everybody loves everybody, but the lady was right about the cutting off.
I also showed this printout to several people before we went into the studio and all said this is excellent for you to bring up. However, I couldn’t even give one reason as to why a Good Muslim can’t become a good Australian. As soon as “Insight” had finished on Tuesday night my phone started to ring with upset people at the other end, followed by e-mails; expressing disappointment and dismay about the way “Insight” was handled. Words like total flop, imbalance, stacked with Muslims who had the floor, were voiced. I told them that it is no use telling me this; tell SBS. Many wondered why the Rev. Hon. Fred Nile ED., L.Th., M.L.C. wasn’t on the show. He had just published a Media release, called “Islamaphobia and Islamisation.” An interesting read.
After the show I spoke with two Muslim women, one was a lawyer, and I gave them the printout and my e-mail address and asked them to let me know if the answers given to: (Can good Muslims be good Australians?) is correct in their opinion, they promised that they will reply, but I won’t hold my breath.
For me it was an interesting experience, but also disappointing due to being cut off and, not given any further opportunity to speak. It was also very hectic for me, flying down the day before and back the next day, an hour after the show.
I had an interesting mix of taxi drivers; the first one was a migrant from Ghana a jolly fellow who explained the different landmarks and the suburbs we were in. He even told me where Lee Lin Chin, the SBS weekend newsreader lives, and that he had driven her many times in his taxi to the SBS studio. I asked him what his name was and he said Ray. “Is this a given name for Australia,” I asked.” ‘No the real name is rayno (don’t know if this is the right spelling) but it sounded like Rhino to me and I asked him if that name comes from the animal “Rhinoceros” and he burst out laughing, “No, no, no, it is not derived from Rhinoceros.” For a moment I was worried that he was losing control of the car, but he certainly had a good sense of humour.
The last driver was a Muslim from Iran who took me to the airport. He also wanted to know what I was doing at SBS; and consequently went into overdrive with a lecture about the bad western governments, the bad western culture and the bad western media, who, according to him, tell lies about Islam.
I will now publish what I was denied from bringing up at SBS. Also, I just had an e-mail from Nonie Darwish, USA who appeared on the show via telecast, complaining of being cut off by Jenny Brockie. See also my last posting, Terrorizing Muslim Women. By Nonie Darwish. – Werner

Can a good Muslim be a good Australian?
This question was forwarded to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years. The following is his reply, and my friend who reads the Koran said, “This is spot on!”Theologically - no. . . Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon god of Arabia.
Religiously - no . . . Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam . (Quran, 2:256)(Koran)

Therefore, after much study and deliberation.... Perhaps we should be very suspicious of some of the MUSLIM community in this country. - - - They obviously cannot be both 'good' Muslims and good Australians. Call it what you wish it's still the truth. You had better believe it. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future. The religious war is bigger than we know or understand.
Footnote: Some in the Muslims community have said they will destroy us from within. Islam is not only a religion - it’s a way of life under total dictatorial submission to Allah & Mohamed. SO FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.* * * * * * *

My thought for today: - WernerYou can preach a better sermon with your life than with your lips. -Oliver Goldsmith
The program was poorly handled, quite meaningless really. And I agree you were cut off. Your list of points you wanted was excellent. The whole show only confirmed that an intelligent discussion is really needed……
ReplyDeleteI hope the ABC takes on the challenge.
I also was very annoyed that you didn't get a fair go, it must have been very frustrating , and yes, it was very one sided, never mind, I think you are a champion !!!
ReplyDeleteWerner, I am sorry I was not able to watch Insight last Tuesday night and I am also sorry to hear of the way you appear to have been treated by Brockie.
ReplyDeleteThe article of yours: Can a good Muslim be a good Australian? is very revealing and points out a lot of things that I was not aware of.
There is no possible way they can become an Australian. They appear to have but one aim in every country they migrate to, in particular Australia, and that is to eventually take over each country and of course this is of a very great concern to us all.Keep up the good work.
Hello Werner, I agree with the others. Wish we had more "Aussies" like you.
ReplyDeleteWerner, I watched “Insight” and found it was absolutely “pathetic” and that is an understatement. I totally agree with your heading that the show didn’t allay any fears the “real” Australians have about Islam that is gaining an increasing foothold in this country. It was manifestly obvious that Brockie favoured the Muslims, especially the two women of which, one of them was a lawyer; they were allowed unrestrictedly to rattle on.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read your blog and have seen what you actually intended to bring to the debate I got very angry. The reasons given, as to why good Muslims can’t be good Australians, would have been very relevant to the subject discussed and should worry every Australian whose religion is other than Islam. It is an absolute shame that Brockie prevented you from bringing these reasons into the open. Few of us would have known about them. Thank you for the courage to publish them on your blog.
Werner, the ten reasons given as to why a good Muslim can’t become a good Australian is clearly evident. The Rev. Hon. Fred Nile M.L.C, seems to be the only politician in this country to be aware of the problems Islam is starting to create in Australia, the rest of the politicians seem to be oblivious to it.
ReplyDeleteOne has to wonder if they ever read or hear about the problems the European countries have now, after allowing unfettered access of Muslims to their respective countries. We should shut the gate now, to stop Muslims coming to this country before it is too late – it is a well-known fact that they do not integrate nor assimilate. Australia will never be the same if our politicians do not wake up and curb or totally stop Islam from expanding in Australia.
What a let down for you Werner. You were not allowed to talk and they never returned to you , just glimpses of your face. I was very annoyed at the way the two women were given so much time to air their views compared with others on the panel and I have just written to say so. I only hope after the show finished there was more chance for you to say your piece.
ReplyDeleteHi Werner, I read your article, unfortunately did not see you on telly, which by what you say was not handled very well in such as the cutting short what you wanted say.
ReplyDeleteI'm an old man Werner and I doubt if it will concern me, but I shudder to think what will happen to this great country and our way of to all Australians in the future. If ordinary people can see and accept what is happening why can't the people who matter not see.
Simple solution, no more in and send the ones here back home otherwise we have lost, (if we haven't already lost). Awra Best, I'm with you Werner!
Werner I was surprised to see you on TV, but I don’t think that it was a well balanced show. I was manifestly obvious that Brockie favoured the Muslims; there is no doubt about it.
ReplyDeleteKnowing now what you wanted to bring up and couldn’t, absolutely dismayed me.You were “neutralised” and couldn’t bring these valid reasons to the debate as to why a good Muslim cannot become a good Aussie – shame on you SBS and Brockie. It is tantamount and imperative that those reasons should be known by every Australian and taken seriously.
Hi Werner, unable to watch Tuesday night, out to birthday dinner. Doesn’t surprise me what happened - I think the inference in my emails to you about your invitation to participate indicated my suspicion about the deal. Well done for obviously trying hard to get your point across. Will try and see a repeat.
ReplyDeleteAs a fifth generation Australian and serving in the Australian defence force, I am appalled and outraged that Brockie didn’t allow Werner to raise the teen very valid reasons, given in this posting. I wonder if SBS stands for Silly Bloody Station.
ReplyDeleteWerner I intended calling around to see you to ask about the programme. David and I watched it and noticed that it was full of Muslims and also that there were the chosen few who were approached to speak.
ReplyDeleteYou did not get a chance at all. And to my way of thinking, what a terrible waste of money having you fly down there and back and not being able to participate. Let’s hope something comes of those who contact SBS about it. Some of those speakers were very racist. At least you had the experience.
Werner, I have just been made aware of your blog and I just want to say that I find it very interesting and informative. I'll certainly come back.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame that this show was so lopsided towards the Muslims and you were presented to spell out the ten reasons you published in your blog.
ReplyDeleteHello Werner, I read your blog and also watched the Youtube video. My verdict - SBS created a wonderful 'powder-keg subject' purely for the ratings. Ms Brockie as usual did a fine job in cutting off anyone (bar the Muslim representatives) who had something to say or who wanted questions answered.
ReplyDeleteI have a question to pose: How many Islamists are we, the Australian people, going to allow to become ministers in our state and federal governments? As that Patel guy so proudly stated, we now have a Muslim representative in our Federal government and he got voted in because he is a good Muslim and therefore a good Australian.
God help us! Can't people see what's happening here? Are we just going to allow the Islamists to insidiously work their way into high office? Enough said.
